My goal is to become a Data Scientist, or to work in a related field that’s at the forefront of technology’s impact, like healthcare, animation, automotives, or aeronautics. As I finish up my undergraduate studies, I’m excited to embark on a professional career that allows me to move around, exploring different companies and cultures across the country and the world. Eventually, I hope to settle down and open my own business, focusing on providing mental health services to athletes. It’s a dream that combines my love for data science with my passion for making a positive impact in people’s lives.
Most of my free time is spent in the outdoors, whether that be in my backyard or on a hike somewhere. A good book, coffee, some chill tunes, and my dog — a blissful afternoon. Music has been a hobby of mine since I was young, listening and creating (I’m a renowned bathroom singer). Anything space/sci-fi related will keep me entertained for hours. I also like to work out and have played basketball most of my life, but these days an active lifestyle is enough. I love to cook, especially for other people. I am also a fanatic of films which I think has been a gateway into my picking up philosophy as a hobby.
AgTechLogic has given me the chance to experience what it means to work towards a vision. During my time with them, I have learned from admirable professionals about their careers, and I feel I carry myself better because of that fact. The culture of having a goal and looking into every possible way on how to make it happen is a skill I will carry with me for the rest of my career… AgTechLogic has given me the privilege of learning what it means to work hard and reap the benefits.
Over the course of my 10 weeks at AgTechLogic, I worked alongside Justin, their CTO, building the AI-centered infrastructure for the company’s precision spraying technology, Agtellio. This cutting-edge technology reduces the amount of treatment needed by farmers, a critical advancement in sustainable agriculture. We fine-tuned an R-CNN model using Detectron2, employing transformer and active training methods, and iteratively refined the model to achieve optimal results.
Working under Justin’s guidance was a privilege. Not only did he provide valuable insights into the industry and the technology pipelines relevant to my future career, but he also offered great advice on managing time and life outside of work. My experience at AgTechLogic exceeded my expectations, offering me a comprehensive understanding of data science and the realities of working in a startup environment. The knowledge and skills I’ve gained during this internship will undoubtedly shape my future career path.
